Record your intention to join us on Saturday, 13th February for The Great Backyard Bird Count at Captain Sam's Inlet |
Meet on the beach in front of Beachwalker parking lot
at 1:00 PM on Saturday 13th, February 2010. We will then walk to the end of the Spit via the beach. It will be near to low tide. We will be lead by
Sarah Ernst, a naturalist with the Kiawah Island Nature Program who is very knowledgeable about the
birds to be seen near Captain Sam's Spit and will be happy to help you indentify whatever you may see. The trip will finish at 4:00 PM.
The Nature Center will be providing a limited amount of equipment, including 8 pairs of birding binoculars (please note that you would like to borrow a pair
under Special Requests below), a spotting scope, and bird identification information but please try
to bring your own equipment including a bird book.
Note that Beachwalker Park and the access road are closed to traffic, but we are trying to get them unlocked for the event. We will be sending information
about parking to participants who register.
No donations are expected, but will be happily accepted. Checks payable to "SCELP" please.
Below is an on-line form for you to let us know that you intend to join us. Please complete it so that we can inform you about parking.
